SPOILER. I was also reminded of Kino. I hate how passive Elaina is. She needs to realize that she, too, is part of this world, and her choices, even her lack of choices, have an effect on all those she meets. She left an entire city to die. She left that girl to suffer.
yea I agree on this. I actually like how she doesn't help and is just there to interact at just a traveler, that's not minding other people's business. Just to make her own story logs as she travels from place to place, whether it's happy, sad, suffering, great, beautiful etc. You do see her snapping a bit at that village chief, but hold it in which is very hard to do when realizing what's going on.
I totally agree with Hazard here, If she feels that her involvement would be intrusive, why not tell others who can also deal with the situation? Surely ignoring mayhem and destruction rather than doing anything about it other than writing it in a journal cannot be observed as anything other than cruel.-- Read below
Anyone she tells these stories to (us and characters within that world) would also point this out. Sure. Go explore, do what you want. But don't pretend you didn't see a murder because you're "too busy exploring" to have noticed.
waow... never would've thought I'd encounter 2 unconclusive cliffhangers I in one episode! Those flower-brainwashed people & what happens to Nino 😱😱
That said, I actually like how she is just literally traveling and not helping to change things even if that isn't the best option. But like she said at the end, doing so might also backfire, so whatever she might've helped to fix Nino, have a chance on backfiring, so not helping at all is a choice as well. Still liking this a lot!
The thing about this anime is that rather than just jumping from this worlds towns and showing each story play out... They gave us a character. Someone to focus on, someone for us to wait to JUMP INTO the action. Then they just make us sit and wait for her to... Also sit and wait for stuff to happen. It's like showing us another viewer of the show and focusing in on them as if they're an important role. It's misleading, annoying to see and boring to watch. -Read below
this is quite a fun controversy. on an objective viewpoint, she 'could' do something but rather let their people solve that themselves rather than a miracle help them 'in this instance our protagonist' but on an emotional level she should help these people who might not be able to reach the desired future, so If she could help, why wouldn't she? it's not like she is in a rush.
