this series really intrigues me. it does things in a certain way, and portrays characters and its story very strangely to create an effect that really changes how you watch it!

you can expect things to happen, you can bet on your previous experiences with shows: the show doesn't care. it does what it wants, and it does it beautifully and scarily. any normal back-of-the-shelf seasonal show would never do that, and it diverts your expectations in such a way that you feel like you're not even watching the same show as everyone else. I'm so excited to see how this series comes to a close!

Yea, the reason why this is like that is because Elaine is the "Observer", whose often a support character. In here the Observer IS the Main Character. But in each chapter/book/story/journal... She, herself is not the Main Character, as she also doesn't act like one. She literally act as an outsider observing, which is very refreshing! She can hold herself, but as we could see in here, she does let her emotions appear, but it'll end up being over powered by an "actual Main".

I'm telling y'all that the book Elaina read must have been her mom's journal or someone close

This is way better than violet evergarden or at least plot wise as this show does take a darker tone than the latter even though violet did kill 50 people ++ its not about what happened to the main character its more about the situations of the people aound it

at first I thought it was a girl shoujo, but it turned out being a bad ass show
